SMLC's annual Stampede for Open Space! will be held at August 13, 2011 at the Carson Nature Center at the South Platte Park. Look for the Tents. Park in the RTD parking overflow lot or the Carson Nature Center. The Stampede! is designed as an interactive event for children to:
■ Enjoy historical interpretation of South Platte Park
■ Play Old Time Games
■ Play the Stampede! Stumper. Go on a scavenger hunt for answers
■ Join South Platte Park in gold panning
■ Visit educational field stations
■ Play in a TeePee
■ Learn about trappers
■ Learn about water dynamics in the South Platte
This is SMLC's annual fundraiser to purchase open space in our area. You can purchase land certificates at our land office. Free refreshments and a free bandana after the Stampede! Stumper game form is returned.
When: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon. Free prize drawings.
